The ShinMaywa US-2 is a large Japanese short takeoff and landing amphibious aircraft developed and manufactured by seaplane specialist ShinMaywa. Shinji started his aviation professional career at this company back in 2005. Today, he came back to their Kobe factory and gave his presentation of how he prepared his flying around the world with Lucy in 2021. During staying in Kobe, he was able to meet his former boss/mentor of aircraft engineering. Special thanks to Mr. Sugimoto and Mr. Kaji. Without their coaching, Shinji was not able to contribute any of his passion to aviation industry professionally.
世界で唯一、波高３ｍの荒海に離着水できる水陸両用飛行艇「US-２」を製造しているのが新明和工業です。前田が大学院卒業後、就職した場所がこの会社であり、航空機作りのなんたるかを教わったのがこの会社でした。そして今日、神戸の甲南工場で講演することができました。新人時代にお世話になった上司と共に夕食をすることができましたし、思い出話で盛り上がりました。彼らのおかげで今の前田があると言っても過言ではありません。
