After Shinji landed on Hokkaido, his home-island, his mom, brother’s family, relatives and others came to airport to see Shinji behind the security fence. It was very ludicrous greeting but Japanese government strongly believed that Shinji had COVID case since he flew 16-countries prior to the Japan at that time. That’s why there was no hug nor handshake with anyone. Shinji was able to see his mom who recently past away and he didn’t lose any positive attitude for the future pilots as you can see this video. At this moment, Shinji has already decided that “Japan, no worry, I will be back in the future with Lucy!!” That’s IS Shinji. He never give up.
前田の出身地である北海道に着陸。母親と兄家族、叔父や叔母、多くのサポーターがフェンス越しに前田を出迎えてくれました。この光景は外国人にはとても滑稽で、非常識な対応だとコメントがありましたが前田はこの時、ポジティブな姿勢を一切崩さず、涙も流しませんでした。日本政府に最後までコロナ感染者であることを疑われても、堂々と自分の生まれた北海道に凱旋できたことはこのフェンス越しに集まってくれた人たちには伝わっていました。そして必ず自分の操縦でまた日本にルーシーと戻ることを強く決意した瞬間でした。
