Day 4 – Part 2

For many years, I have worked with Ms. Ito from ISA, an agency that coordinates many of my speaking engagements in Japan.

Although we had met countless times online, this was the first time we actually met in person.

Before the presentation, Ms. Ito told the students:“I’m actually a huge fan of Mr. Maeda. That’s why I want all of you to hear his message.”That unexpected comment instantly flipped my “go all in” switch. Because it was a face-to-face presentation, I was able to convey not only my words but also my passion, my breathing, and my conviction—touching even on topics that many adults in Japan hesitate to discuss. I am deeply grateful to ISA for creating that opportunity.

長年講演活動でお世話になっているISAエージェントの伊藤さんとは、これまで何度もオンラインで打ち合わせをしてきましたが、今回初めて直接顔を合わせて仕事をすることができました。講演前、伊藤さんは学生たちの前でこう言いました。

「私はマエダさんの大ファンなんです。だからどうしても彼のメッセージをみんなに伝えたいんです。」

その予想外の言葉で、私の**“やり切るスイッチ”**が一気に入りました。対面だからこそ、私の思い、息遣い、姿勢、そして日本の大人が触れることを恐れるようなセンシティブなテーマにも踏み込みながら、子供たちへ直接メッセージを届けることができました。その環境を作ってくれたISAの皆さんに、心から感謝しています。
