Day 4 – Part 3
Another moment during this trip reminded me of the old saying:�“Travelers are companions, and the world is built on kindness.”I received wonderful support from Mr. Kanou, the manager of the outdoor shop TRANSLATION. Starting this year, I plan to fly my aircraft Lucy to camping destinations and combine aviation with outdoor adventures. For that, I needed a large backpack.Because Japan currently has a historically weak yen, I ended up buying many gifts for my kids—so my luggage quickly grew larger than expected. The timing to find a large backpack couldn’t have been better. Interestingly, the pronunciation of KANOU sounds very close to the English word “Possible.”Stopping by his shop right before my lecture felt like a symbolic encounter. During the presentation, they kindly allowed me to store my large luggage there, which was a huge help for someone traveling like me. It’s definitely a place I’d love to visit again on my next trip to Japan.
「旅は道連れ、世は情け」という言葉を実感する出来事もありました。アウトドア専門店 TRANSLATION の加納店長に大変お世話になりました。今年から私は、愛機ルーシーでキャンプ地へ飛び、そこからアウトドアを楽しむという新しい計画を立てています。そのために、大容量のバックパックを探していました。日本は歴史的な円安もあり、子供たちへのお土産などを買っていたら荷物がかなり増えてしまっていたので、大きなリュックを購入するタイミングとしては完璧でした。ちなみに「KANOU」という名前の発音は、英語で言うと “Possible”。講演前に立ち寄ったこの加納店長との出会いは、まるで運命のようでした。講演中、大きな荷物を快く店で預かってくださり、旅を続ける者として本当に助けられました。次回の日本訪問でも、ぜひ立ち寄りたいお店です。
