In today’s world, where the internet makes it easy to feel like we’ve “been there” or “know it all,”seeing and touching the real thing matters more than ever.

For Maeda, who once built aircraft himself, Genchi-Genbutsu—going to the place and seeing the real object—has always been a core belief.

That’s why he wanted children to actually see and touch Lucy, an aircraft born in 1963.

Despite it being the rainy season, Seattle greeted us with rare clear skies.

I couldn’t help but think how lucky they truly were.

雨季にもかかわらず、この日は珍しくシアトルは快晴。彼らは本当にラッキーだな、と心から思いました。
