Before teaching a child what they can’t do,I want to show them what they can do.
Adults often stop children by citing rules and regulations. But standing alongside a child’s curiosity matters far more.
For Tsubasa, those nine minutes—from his very first radio call to landing—were a once-in-a-lifetime experience. He was nervous, of course. But we practiced again and again, at home and in the cockpit.
When adults support children within responsible limits, they rise to the challenge. Flight instructor colleagues listening in shared warm words afterward.
This is the beauty of the American sky.
